About us

I’m Christian Quain, a mechanical engineer, living and working in Michigan. Working in the automotive industry has taught me the importance of precision and intelligent design. But I’ve always believed that the objects we surround ourselves with should do more than just function—they should speak to us.

I founded Layered Fables to bridge the gap between technical engineering and creative expression. My designs are deeply influenced by the people in my life—from the chaotic beauty of growing up in a large family to the friends I've made. They are also shaped by my passion for travel; exploring the world has given me new perspectives that I bring back to the studio. I wanted to create a brand that captures those memories and connections in physical form.

We create what I call "Additive Sculptures." These aren't just 3D printed parts; they are functional art pieces designed with engineering rigor and finished with an artistic touch. Every layer printed is a page in the narrative, resulting in a product that is as meaningful as it is useful.
